Oldysh™ Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Contact: hello@oldysh.com

Oldysh™ is the app. Oldish, LLC is the company. Oldysh™ (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our website at oldysh.com and the Oldysh™ mobile app.

Summary

  • You need an account to use the app. You can create one with email or Sign in with Apple.

  • We do not operate a cloud database for your mood check-ins or journal entries. Those stay on your device. We cannot access them.

  • Research-Based Guides and other educational content are read from the app itself, not uploaded from your device.

  • External links (for example, in Connection and Support Tools) open third-party websites with their own privacy practices.

  • For your account, we store your email address, optional first name, an account identifier, signup date, and guide progress.

  • The app downloads a new guide from our update service when one is ready. If you allow alerts, we store a device token with your account and send one alert when a new guide is ready.

  • We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Website

If you email us at hello@oldysh.com, we receive whatever you choose to send (such as your email address and message content).

Our website at oldysh.com is primarily informational (for example, a company page and this policy). We may use standard web hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) to operate and secure the site. We do not use the website to collect Mood Check or Journaling content from the app.

Mobile app — account

You sign in with email or Sign in with Apple. We store:

  • Your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, Apple can give us a private relay address instead of your real email.

  • Your first name, if you give one or Apple shares it

  • An account identifier (a user id we use to operate your account)

  • The date you signed up

  • Guide progress (which guides you started or completed)

We use this to sign you in, operate your account, and later to know when any complimentary access period began. You can delete your account in Settings. That removes your email, first name, account identifier, signup date, saved guide progress, and any guide-alert token from our systems. Mood Check and Journaling stay on your device.

We store your account so you can sign in. We send account emails from noreply@oldysh.com. We do not sell this data.

Mobile app — stored on your device

When you use Mood Check, the app may save locally on your device:

  • Your selected mood rating

  • Optional notes

  • Optional emotion labels you select

  • The date and time of each check-in

When you use Journaling, the app may save locally on your device:

  • The text of your journal entries

  • Any writing prompt you selected

  • The date and time of each entry

We do not operate a cloud database for your mood check-ins or journal entries. Those stay on your device. We cannot access them.

The app keeps a limited history of recent entries on your device (for example, the most recent mood check-ins and journal entries). You can edit or delete individual entries within the app.

The app may also open third-party websites (for example, support organizations and community resources). Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Mobile app — guide updates and alerts

The app checks for a new guide and downloads it. That check sends the app version and an update id. It does not send your name, email, mood check-ins, or journal entries.

The first time you open the app, we ask whether you want alerts. If you allow them, we store a device token with your account so we can send one alert when a new guide is ready. You can turn alerts off in Settings. If you do not allow alerts, the new guide still appears the next time you open the app. We do not use the token for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps.

Device backups

Your phone or tablet may automatically back up app data through iCloud (Apple) or Google Backup (Android). Those backups are managed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies and security practices. Oldysh™ does not control whether your device includes app data in a backup.

If you delete the Oldysh™ app from your device, locally stored Mood Check and Journaling data is generally removed with the app, unless a copy remains in a device backup you restore later.

Information we do not collect (current version)

In the current version of Oldysh™:

  • We do not operate a cloud database for your mood check-ins or journal entries. Those stay on your device. We cannot access them.

  • We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the app.

You need an account to use the app.

How we use information

  • Contact emails: We use messages you send to hello@oldysh.com only to respond to your questions or support requests.

  • Account: We use your email, first name, account identifier, and signup date to operate your account and, later, any complimentary access period. Guide progress is saved so you can continue on this device after you log in.

  • Guide updates: We use the app version and update id only to deliver a new guide.

  • Guide alerts: If you allow them, we use the device token only to tell you a new guide is ready.

  • App data on your device: Mood Check and Journaling data stored on your device is used to show your history and trends to you on that device (for example, recent check-ins and a mood trend summary). We cannot access them.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only if required by law or to protect safety.

The app contacts Expo to download a guide update. If you allow alerts, we send that device token to Expo, and Apple delivers the alert to your phone.

Links in the app take you to external websites we do not control. When you tap a link, you leave Oldysh™ and are subject to that site’s privacy policy and terms. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing personal information.

Data retention and deletion

On your device: You can edit or delete mood check-ins and journal entries in the app. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored Mood Check and Journaling data from your device (subject to device backup behavior described above).

Account: You can delete your account in Settings. That removes your email, first name, account identifier, signup date, saved guide progress, and any guide-alert token. It does not remove Mood Check or Journaling entries already on your device.

We do not operate a cloud database for your mood check-ins or journal entries. Those stay on your device. We cannot access them, so we cannot retrieve, export, or delete them from a server.

Children

Oldysh™ is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@oldysh.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Security

No method of electronic storage is completely secure. Because app data stays on your device within the app’s private storage area—which other apps cannot access under normal operating conditions—you should use a passcode or biometric lock on your phone if you are concerned about others accessing it. Keep your operating system updated.

Not medical, legal, or financial advice

Oldysh™ provides general wellness and educational information. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice, or a diagnosis or treatment. Mood Check and Journaling are personal reflection tools, not clinical assessments.

Always consult qualified professionals for medical, legal, and financial decisions. If you are in crisis in the US or Canada, call or text 988, or call 911. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on oldysh.com/privacy-policy and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
